Charles Dufour Bulles de Comptoir #13 Cuisine du Dimanche Extra Brut Champagne NV
Charles took over from his father in 2006, and he transitioned his family's vines to organic. He makes one wine, Bulles de Comptoir, from his Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc vines in the Aube's quintessential seashell fossil-laden soils. He also makes Bistrøtage from his mom’s (Françoise!) organically farmed Pinot parcels one town over.
The 13th edition of Charles’ OG Champagne, this release is called “Sunday Lunch,” a suggestive setting for his “bar bubbles.”
Pinot Noir (60%) + Chardonnay (30%) + Pinot Blanc (10%) from 2022 (65%) + his “perpetual reserve” that spans 1982-2021.
18 months elevage in stainless and barrel. Tirage in Feb., ’24, Disgorged in May, ’25.
