Time flies working with wines we love, by people we respect, and selling to customers who keep coming back. Today, our selection of 2,000+ wines spotlights small-production wineries from the classic regions of Europe and the U.S. We source from California’s iconic, artisanal distributors and importers—Kermit Lynch, Neal Rosenthal, José Pastor, and Beaune Imports are just a few—as well as the most trusted names in private cellar acquisitions. All our wines are stored at an ideal 55 degrees with 70% humidity.

Wines of Place

The concept that each wine could only have come from one place in the world and farming without chemicals and other inputs is the true path to terroir-driven wines. We prefer to support producers who practice organics and biodynamics, and eschew additives in the winery. While great wine is made in the vineyard and raised with a delicate hand in the cellar, a delicious bottle of wine built upon vibrancy and freshness is most important.

Max Kogod, Owner

Max grew up in Potomac, Maryland, graduated with a B.A. in Theater at UCLA, and earned certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. At the start of his career, he worked every stage of wine production, from vineyards to bottling, for Domaine Dujac in Burgundy and Failla Wines in Napa Valley and the Sonoma Coast. And finally, he did floor sales and wine buying at Crush Wine & Spirits in New York City before founding Kogod Wine Merchant. Max now resides in Sherman Oaks, California. Want to know more?
