Erich Weber acquired a parcel of the Euchariusberg Vineyard in the early 1979 when few winegrowers cared to grow vines on the steep slopes of the Saar. Erich and his son, Johannes, farm organically and harvest by hand.
Hofgut Falkenstein maintains the old practice of vinifying each parcel in its own fuder (old barrel) and bottling them as separate lots. Euchariusberg is perhaps the apex of this estate's holdings, known for producing old-vine, traditional Rieslings with the purest sense of minerality.
