Direct from the Jura home of a former Domaine Macle employee, this private cellar offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the region’s most sought-after, age-worthy whites with decades of bottle age and provenance to match. Macle’s Côtes du Jura is predominantly Chardonnay with roughly 15–20% Savagnin, raised traditionally under voile to develop its signature oxidative complexity while preserving freshness and a firm mineral core.
The great examples from the 1990s are epic, showing toasted hazelnut, curry spice, citrus peel and iodine, with layers of orchard fruit carried by persistent acidity. These are whites that gain dimension over decades, retaining their energy as their savory complexity deepens.
