2024 Jean-Marc Vincent Santenay Les Potets Blanc

A meticulous white Santenay from Jean-Marc and Anne-Marie Vincent, made from a 0.23-hectare parcel of forty-five-year-old Chardonnay. Cool-fruited and chalky, it is Côte de Beaune white at its most precise.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of crisp pear, green apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and pastry cream lead the nose. The palate is taut and layered, with chalky structure, bright acidity, and a long, mineral finish.

Wine Details / Description

Jean-Marc and Anne-Marie Vincent run a small, hands-on domaine in Santenay at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, working vineyards largely inherited from Jean-Marc's grandfather. Their reputation rests on obsessive vineyard work, with several passes through each parcel at harvest and sorting done on the vine.

Les Potets is a 0.23-hectare parcel of clay-limestone planted to forty-five-year-old Chardonnay. Fruit is pressed immediately under low pressure and moved by gravity into cask, fermenting without added sulfur, which is added only at bottling. The wine spends a minimum of fifteen months in barrel with 10% new oak, is never racked, and has its lees stirred three or four times a month until spring.
