Eric Bordelet Poiré Granit NV

In 1992, trained sommelier Eric Bordelet returned to Normandy to take over his family's estate and orchards. With inspiration and support from close friend and vigneron legend Didier Dageneau of Pouilly-sur-Loire, he began producing artisanal ciders from ancient, heirloom varieties of pears and apples, harvested from 300 year trees. Since that initial offering, he has revolutionized the cider industry with a presence in high-end wine shops, restaurants and export markets like never before.

Over the last three decades, Bordelet has planted seven hectares of young apple trees and five hectares of pear trees, which are now in full production. By diversifying the orchards with non-hybrid varietals that exhibit distinct sweet, bitter and sour taste profiles, he has full control over producing distinct and interesting ciders. Orchards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with official organic certification achieved in 1996.
