Mikey Giugni of Scar of the Sea has spent a decade building partnerships with local growers willing to farm to this holistic standards and seeks out old-vine sites. He produces what he calls "breakfast wines" that are refreshing and easy to drink. His entry-level Chardonnay, Vino de los Ranchos, comes from 1973-planted vines in Santa Maria Valley.
