2005 Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre Margaux
I was introduced to Marquis d'Aligre's Margaux by one of the best vignerons in the Côte de Nuits. Finding authentic Bordeaux is the tallest of tasks, but my man was right––this is the kind of Bordeaux I want to drink every week. Like most throwback wines of the region, it really opens up with air. I recommend keeping the bottle upright for several weeks to allow the sediment to rest at the bottom. The resulting transparency in glass is nothing short of Margaux perfection.
