Steve Matthiasson, a farmer turned viticulturist turned winemaker, is one of the leading figures in the wave following Robert Parker’s era of high-octane wines. Jon Bonné's The New California Wine (2013) canoned Matthiasson and his peers as the next generation of winemakers focused on balance and the unique expressions of California terroir.
A Napa Cabernet that balances structure and ripeness with minerality and freshness, known for its signature black fruit and graphite. Steve has farmed this vineyard using organic practices since 2012. It sits on rocky volcanic soils at the mouth of Napa Valley where the nights are cooler. Aged in 50% new French oak.
