Albert Boxler is in a select category within dry Alsatian Riesling. Their Grand Cru holdings come from the famous Sommerberg Vineyard, and in exceptional years, they separate distinct parcels to produce a hyper terroir-focused range of wines.
The wines have a granitic-minerality nature, though the Sommerberg is all about finesse and nerviness while Brand delivers intense concentration and a broad style of power. Fermenting and aging exclusively occur in large foudre—how things have been done since the domaine bottled its first estate wines in 1946.
