"The 2011 Pinot Noir Evening Land-Tempest is drop dead gorgeous. Black cherries, blackberries, mint, licorice, tar and tobacco are some of the many aromas and flavors that come alive in this magnificent Pinot Noir. From one of the most marginal Pinot sites on the Central Coast, the 2011 captures the energy and vibrancy of the cool year, but those qualities are matched pound for pound by marvelous flavor intensity, volume, balance and a deceptively mid-weight personality. The style is very much dark and brooding. I can't wait to see what develops here over the next few years. The Evening Land-Tempest was bottled before the sale of this site to Domaine de la Cote. Future vintages will carry the new name of the vineyard, La Cote Estate. (Drink between 2014-2023)"
