The 2007 Les Vergelesses blanc takes the purity and charm of the Savigny villages and takes it up several levels with its superior terroir. This is a stellar bottle of white Burgundy by any measure, as the wine soars from the glass in a brilliant blaze of pink grapefruit, lime blossoms, a complex base of white stony soil tones, beeswax and a very gentle touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and racy, with laser-like focus, great mid-palate depth and a snappy girdle of acidity that keeps the wine razor-sharp on its transparent and very elegant finish. One of the very finest bottles of Savigny-les-Beaune Blanc that I have ever tasted. (Drink between 2009-2025)"

As would reasonably be expected, there is just more here in every dimension with a more complex and more elegant nose that is layered and very fresh and this refinement continues onto the nicely concentrated middle weight flavors that display evident minerality on the sappy, intense and mouth coating finish that lingers and lingers. This is a terrific Savigny blanc and recommended. (Drink starting 2012)"
