While Domaine Tempier may be best known for its peerless rosé and single-vineyard Mourvèdre-based wines, its Bandol Rouge offers the most immediate pleasure in the newer cuvée known as "Lucien & Lulu". Comprised of 75% Mourvèdre, 14% Grenache, 9% Cinsault, and 2% Carignan, these vines, over 40 years of age, give the best window into the magic of Tempier upon release, with a stunning amount of clarity given the deep and dark layers of fruit this domaine is long adored for.

In 1941, Lulu and Lucien Peyraud put Bandol on the AOC map by petitioning for official recognition. Today, Domaine Tempier is perhaps more synonymous with its appellation than any domaine in France. The red wines—Mourvèdre-based blended with Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah—are among France's top ageable wines.
