I was never sure how off-dry German Riesling would be received in the San Diego area. Thankfully, it hasn't been the uphill battle I envisioned (sushi and taco fans know what's up). J.J. Prüm defines the Mosel river valley for me, and 2019 is a pitch-perfect vintage that has it all. Being lucky enough to share some older Prüms at Stephen Bitterolf's Rieslingfeier made it even more evident that, with age, these transform monumentally. I've already put a case away for myself.
