2019 Dureuil-Janthial Rully Maizières Blanc
All wines stored at 55° and 70% humidity
It’s not every day that we spotlight Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise. Vincent Dureuil in Rully is a favorite producer among Burgundy’s circle of vignerons. With fervent backing from wine critic William Kelley, he’s getting his long-overdue spotlight in the mainstream. In short, these humble Rully wines rise to the occasion of white Burgundy’s top echelon.
Tasting Note:
"Scents of crisp orchard fruit, fresh peach, nutmeg, white flowers and toasted almonds preface the 2019 Rully Maizières Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, saline and penetrating wine that marries mid-palate amplitude with chalky grip. Dureuil observes that the long rows in his large parcel in this lieu-dit stretch from clay soils to much stonier ones."
